Yes. Pavé Fine Jewelry Design specializes in custom engagement rings, wedding bands, and bespoke fine jewelry designed and handmade in Oakland.
We begin with a consultation to discuss your ideas, gemstones, and budget. Our designers create sketches, and our Oakland workshop handcrafts the finished piece. Yes. We offer expert repair services including: ring sizing; prong repair; chain repair; pearl restringing; engraving; restoration, tightening, sourcing, and replacing gemstones; and other jewelry repairs.
Yes. We offer retail replacement appraisals for insurance purposes for a fee. We work with an independent appraiser who visits our store twice a month and provides legal appraisal documentation. Read more about appraisals here.
We recommend that you come into our store and have a sales and design team member measure your size in-person. There are variables such as band thickness, profile, and design that can impact the desired size of the ring.
If sizing on a piece is possible, we offer complimentary ring resizing up or down one size and can resize further for an additional fee. There are some rings that cannot be resized, and in those cases, we recommend remaking the ring. Please see more information on our Ring Sizing page.
Yes! We're happy to work with your own gemstones and diamonds in a custom project. If you have family heirlooms, we're happy to transform them into a modern wearable piece as unique as you.
Yes, appointments are required. You can make an appointment through our Meet the Team page, or call the store to set up an appointment with one of our designers.
We aim to accommodate your timeline in completing your custom project. For most projects, depending upon the complexity of the piece, as well as the process to make it, production can take anywhere from four to eight weeks. If you have a special date in mind, Pavé can accommodate rush projects in a shorter time frame than our usual production. Please contact us if you have any questions at 510-547-7000. Yes, we purchase gold coins or bars, broken jewelry, inherited and vintage jewelry, and precious metal items (gold, platinum, and silver). Immediate payment is available, or more for in-house store credit is offered. We occasionally buy diamonds and gemstones and vintage pieces on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for an appointment to assess your piece(s).

Online orders are shipped via UPS Next Day Air; every package is tracked and insured with signature required for delivery. All in-stock items will ship within 2 business days after purchase. If a piece needs to be sized, it will ship within 7 business days. We cannot ship to PO boxes. Please contact us if you would like to schedule a specific date to receive your item(s). We accept returns or exchanges within 14 days of purchase. Within 15-30 days of purchase, we accept exchanges or offer store credit. After 30 days, we assess on a case-by-case basis. Jewelry must be unworn. Please visit our Return Policy page to read more.
