Historically a color associated with royalty, amethyst ranges from a light lilac to a deep purple color. Amethyst is the traditional birthstone for February, and gemstone for the 6th wedding anniversary. Amethyst was used in suffragette jewelry as part of the green/white/purple combination symbolic of the suffragette movement.
